Randolph Brings Home World Title

Rick Randolph came out on top in his world title fight last night at Red Hawk Casino against Rich Blake. Rick came out behind a good jab and a quick front leg low kick. After attempting a take down, Randolph was able to gain top control on the ground and was relentless with strikes from inside Blake’s half guard. After a successful pass of Blake’s half guard, Randolph was able to transitition from full mount to back control where he pounded away at Blake’s head causing the ref to step in and call the end of the fight at 3:03 of the first round.

Congratulations to Killa B for becoming Charles Gracie’s newest black belt. Killa B runs the Placer County Grapplers (a Charles Gracie program) right here in Marinoble’s Martial Arts Center. Please stop in to tell him congrats on his great accomplishment and try one of his classes.

Max Griffin Wins at Capital City Fighting Championships

Max Griffin improved his kickboxing record to 6-0 Friday night as he defeated Rudy Gonzales of the Nor-Cal Fighting Alliance at 1:58 of the first round.

As the fighters squared off, it was obvious both came to the ring ready for a war. Max was able to control the pace of the fight with good boxing and footwork. Gonzales threw a low kick that was countered with a crisp right hand that sent him to the canvas. The referee administered his 8-count and waved the fight off as Gonzales did not obey his commands.Congrats to max on a well earned victoy.

Gladiator Challenge – Vendetta: Randolph Defends Title

Come support Rick Randolph as he defends his Gladiator Challenge World Heavyweight Title against Rio Linda’s, Dave Huckaba this friday, right here in Roseville.

The fights are being held at the Placer County Fair Grounds and you can get your fight tickets right here at Marinoble’s. Fight Tickets also gain you admission to the Placer Co. Fair.

Also representing Marinoble’s in action Friday Placer County Grappler’s Lead Instructor “Killa-B” Niimi. He will put his slick BJJ and ever-inproving striking skills to the test in the cage.

Joe Baros will make another fight at 135Lbs. agains a tough opponent, Randy Rodhini. expect fireworks from both fighters on this one.

Finally, Johnny Goh will make his way to the cage again looking for his next victory. Johnny’s new striking abilitiess and crafty ground work are the ingredients for a hard earned victory.

“The Bulldog” Win IFC Tournament

Derrick “The Bulldog” Burnsed won the IFC 4-man Welterweight tournament on March 27, 2009 at the Gold Country Casino in Oroville, CA.

Derrick defeated Jack Montgomery of Carson City, NV with a vicious right hand in the first round of their scheduled 3 rounds. Derrick was able to defend a very game Montgomery on the floor and when Burnsed scrambled back to his feet, the right hand proved to be the great equalizer as Montgomery ended up waking up looking at the lights.

Burnsed was scheduled to face Josh McDonald of the Fairtex/Castillo camp but he was unable to continue after his tough first fight 3-round decision. Burnsed was able to defend his alternate opponents tough left hand and wrestling on his way to a very decisive first round submission.

Congratulations to Derrick on his 2 well-earned wins in one night!
