Kickboxing is a sport martial art that incorporates boxing and kicking. It can be practiced for general fitness, or as a full-contact combat sport. At Marinobles the Kickboxing program is based on “real” kickboxing. Unlike cardio-kickboxing, our staff teaches techniques proven in the ring, not on the screen.

A high-energy form of conditioning, Kickboxing will not only improve your cardiovascular endurance but tone and sculpt your body while teaching you effective fighting techniques. Kickboxing is sometimes practiced as an independent style however in many cases kickboxing is just one of many arts taught to help make the student’s skills more well rounded.

Typically kickboxing in many competitions is a standing fight sport and does not allow continuation of the fight once the fight has reached the ground, however with the growth of Mixed Martial Arts kickboxing is just a very important tool in the competition fighters toolbox.

At Marinoble’s we teach true Kickboxing developed and proven in the ring by Mr Marinoble himself. He is a World Champion Kickboxer and has tested out his techniques in real situations and in real Kickboxing competitions.

Kickboxing is not just a sport for men. In fact, women often outnumber the men in our classes. Women find the exercise aspect invigorating and the added benefit of learning how to defend themselves is empowering. Learning a martial art is a confidence builder and a great release for all the stresses of the day. Kickboxing has been proven to be one of the most successful weight loss programs available today.

Beware of schools that claim to teach real Kickboxing techniques. It is an art just like other martial arts and is trained in very specific ways. There is an article on the IKF website here http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/Opinion-FakeKBSchools.htm.

Training in kickboxing is an intense workout each and every time. It is one of the most well-rounded forms of exercise. As you start your kickboxing classes your cardiovascular health will increase and you will become less winded each time. You will notice more stamina and your overall feeling of well being will increase. This is a great sign; your heart muscle is getting stronger, will beat more efficiently, and you’ll lower your risk for a whole host of diseases (heart disease, diabetes, etc).
